I have not been able to update my fotopages for quite some time..been very busy with loads of assignments during the easter break..huhu..poor me...did not manage to go anywhere except for a BBQ at Laili's place..that was awesome...with loads of food and we ate like we have never eaten before..
Since we exceeded the Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) of 2000 kcal, we decided to jog everyday around the lake to shed the excess fat...it was nice to have breeze walk around the lake with swans and ducks swimming in the lake..well, we also managed to have some pics around the lake with lots of flowers..pretty nice huh?

Hari ni hari kedua salji turun kat Birmingham..tak sangka dua hari berturut-turut salji turun..best gila..kali ni aku ajak Juana ngan Laili gi main snowball sebab semalam tak sempat nak spend time together main snow..
The best part was, we recorded our activity making the snowman...siap hantar kat youtube...a memory to be cherished...bukan senang nak rasa pengalaman main salji...apa-apa pun syukur alhamdulillah pada Allah yang telah memakbulkan doa aku selama ni..yelah , mana taknya..dua minggu lepas, salji turun kat London..tempat-tempat lain macam kat Scotland tak ada salji pun...aku ngan kengkawan siap buat plan nak gi tempat yang ada salji..pastu bila tengok forecast kata salji akan turun kat Birm, punyalah kitorang excited...tapi kesian jugak kat kawan2 aku kat Scotland ngan Lancaster..salji turun ciput aje..tak sempat pun nak tebal, dah cair..
Walaupun snow ni best, tapi keterujaan aku main salji telah menyebabkan aku sakit tekak dan selesema..mana taknya...main tak ingat dunia... berapa jam aku spend main salji, buat snowman..natijahnya, terus kesihatan aku terganggu..whatever it is, dua hari main snow ni menjadi kenangan terindah dalam hidup aku

Snow finally arrived in Birm
|

Alhamdulillah...praise to Allah Almighty for granting my wish..I always wish it will snow in Birmingham and it finally did..I can't describe how excited I was when I woke up this morning to see everything was white ...I can't believe my eyes either..thought I was dreaming or something...no, in fact, heavy snowfalls finally showed up in Birmingham...luckily I didn't go to Switzerland to experience the snow...
anyway, my lecturer was kind enough to give us 3 short breaks for our 3 hours lecture...just to let us have fun in the snow..my coursemates and I were so happy..we went out to play snowball fight..it was nice but we were all wet when we resume the lecture... 
after the afternoon's lecture (which the lecturer finished 2 hours earlier), my flatmate and I continued our snowball fight..this time around I was really wet...I fell a few times...but I was good at it..most of the times, I hit the target...we even made our own version of snowman..although it turned out to be not quite a snowman..well, I really love the snow..it is forecasted that it will snow again tomorrow..can't wait for another snowball fight

London vacation

I went to London for the winter break for 4 days with Laili. It was a nice holiday break...full of unexpected incidents, excitements and even running..yeah, lots of running actually...just to catch the bus...we did use the underground tube but it was cheaper with the bus...and you could see the nice view
We nearly missed the bus even before we started journey to London. We arrived at the bus station 5 minutes before departing; thanks to the slow bus to city centre. We had to run like athletes with our luggage just to arrive at Digbeth coach station.Lucky enough that the clock at the coach station was 5 minutes late and we managed to board the bus.
When we went out the first night we arrived, another incident happened. This time around, my camera ran out of battery.Gratefully, we have our camera phone and we managed to capture all the scenic views.
The vacation was very well organised. We had our laptop and every single places that we went to was planned carefully. We even know what bus to board and what place to go next. It was nice to board the London Eye flight, going for the Thames River Cruise, Madame Tussauds, visit the Buckingham Palace, Tate Modern Museum, Big Ben, Tower Hill, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and many more...
Another unforgotten incident happened at Madame Tussauds wax museum...we were so excited taking pictures with all the 'stars' and left our backpack at the pillar. All of a sudden, the backpacks were gone. We were panicked as we did bring the laptop with us and even our belongings such as our wallets, university ID, and etc. We reported to the staff as quick as possible. Lucky enough the backpacks were held by the security guards. They told us that they can't return the backpacks to us for security reason. It's their procedure that all backpacks left unattended should be demolished. We were so terrified and after a while we could reclaim our belongings. We were lucky that they returned our belongings as in most of the case, they have to evacuate all visitors and perceive the unattended bags as threat. All this is due to the recent bomb threat in Heathrow Airport that they have increase their security measures.
Finally, another incident happened when we were about to board the bus to Birmingham. This time around, the online ticket which we have printed was lost during our 'Explorace' run to the Victoria coach station in order to find the right platform. One mistake was we did not have the reference number with us as we only depend on the paper. We went to see the person in charge and he asked us to check from the internet. To make matters worse, the internet service was unavailable at that point of time. Yet another lucky time, we were saved by the virtue of the person in charge who let us board the bus even without the ticket. Fuuhhh, once again we managed to return safe and sound to Birmingham.
All in all, it was a nice vacation in the cold, windy London filled with unexpected incidents  Take home message: charge the camera, don't leave bags or belongins unattended, have the reference number for any online purchases made.

London trip and field visit to Tyseley
|

I just got back from London last night...attended the Commonwealth Scholarship Welcome reception...proud to say that only 3 Malaysian received the award this year...1 in 100 as the Commonwealth Commissioners said...guess I am lucky in that sense...praise to Allah Almighty...in short, really enjoyed the reception event...managed to get to know so many people from different countries, races and cultures in one day...lucky enough also to meet my awards administrator...both from the ACU and British Council...finally had the chance to meet eye to eye after correspondence through letters all this while...really grateful to have this scholarship...one of the oldest and most prestigous scheme in the world...
anyway, I went also for a field visit last Thursday to Tyseley...we visited the incinerator and landfill..the landfill was such a horrible place...it stinks...compared to my London trip, I would not recommend anyone to go for the field visit unless for the knowledge

Nottingham trip!

The three of us (me, laili and juana) went to Nottingham today with the intention to watch the Nottingham Games (Msian games for the undergrad and postgrad students in UK) and also to see my friend...the game was not that interesting as there were no representatives from Birmingham Uni...sob sob...if I knew the game earlier, I would have participated...anyway, managed to go out from Birmingham for the first time and see other parts of England...Nottingham Uni was nice...got a lot of green field unlike Birm Uni...there was also a big lake with lots of swans...pretty lovely...but the city centre was not that lively compared to Birm and it's hard to find halal food...hmm. guess I like Birm better in that sense..

Finally, the Eid has arrived and I had a joyful moment celebrating it although I skip the class...hehehe not that I want to do it on purpose, but I just have to skip to be able to celebrate the Eid...whatever it is, I'll have my class again as usual tomorrow...no more Eid...got to concentrate on my studies...cheers...enjoy the pics..
